As an amateur programmer and web developer (I did say amateur) I’m always looking to find a good IDE that matches my workflow and that allows me to do what I want as quickly and with the least effort possible. Out of all the free IDEs I have tried in both Windows and Linux, none of them even come close to matching Geany’s pure awesomeness!

While it undoubtably has the worst looking icon ever, you can clearly see that the IDE is not overly complex or messy.

… Because we’re moving!
As soon as I get the time, I am going to try to move this blog over to the root domain, www.blastfromthepast.se. I’ve tried doing this in the past, but all I’ve ended up with is a broken mess.
This time, I’m going to completely reinstall wordpress and all my plugins, and then migrate all the posts, comments, images, etc. to that blog. So essentially, it’ll be like starting over. However, I will have to do some magic to redirect all the people who go to /blabbermouth/ to the new domain, while still keeping their URL intact.
For example; let’s say you want to go to my about page. Usually that is at www.blastfromthepast.se/blabbermouth/about-me/. What I want to do is to make it so that a person who goes to that adress automatically gets sent to www.blastfromthepast.se/about-me/ instead. So essentially, I will just be removing the /blabbermouth part.
I’m not quite sure how to do this yet, as I’m no .htaccess ninja. When I find out, I’ll be sure to let you know. Right now, I just wanted to give you a heads up.

Android is, as many of you no-doubt already know, an operating system designed to be run on mobile phones. Originally it was developed by Google, but now development is being handled by the Open Handset Alliance - a consortium of 48 software, hardware and telecom companies. Currently I know of that at least some of the HTC phones are using Android as their operating system.
Even though Android has been out for a few years now, you have only been able to run it in an emulator of sorts, unless you own one of those smartphones. However, now for the first time, you can run it directly on your computer!

I have tried it out on my laptop, and now I’m going to give you a quick tour of Live Android and see if it’s worth using on your netbook.

This really is kind of yesterday’s news, but I figured I’d report on it anyway, seeing as how I have a great interest in this myself.
Yesterday was the Swedish election to the European parliament. Normally such an election probably wouldn’t be such a big deal to most Swedes, as Brussels and Europe can seem so far away to a lot of people. But yesterday, something big happened.
With 7.1% of the votes, the Pirate Party gained one (or possibly two) seats in the European parliament.
